Bo Zhang Introduces the New Ripples Collection

— March 5, 2025 — Art & Design
Artist Bo Zhang designs the Ripples collection, which brings close attention to his fascination with optical illusions and tampering with perspectives. The capsule is comprised of hexagonal trays, which are detailed with unique colors and perceptions. Zhang was inspired by the notion of moiré, where slight changes in perspective will alter the illusion of an ever-changing movement when there isn't one that exists.

Zhang explains, “I believe the change will bring new value to design – the new value from the characteristics of vision, surface, and color." In the capsule, this same sense of change is provoked by how the viewer is shifting in the vantage point. The tray has a folded form that sees one color from one angle and another from the opposite angle.
