Designed as a means of discovering new and innovative food and farming companies, Chipotle launched the Chipotle Aluminaries Project as an accelerator program for food and farm technology. Focusing primarily on alternative farming and agriculture, the accelerator aims to fund growth-stage companies that are changing the food landscape and working towards a better future. According to Chipotle CEO Brian Niccol, this initiative falls deeply in line with Chipotle's ethos as the company "has been committed to the future of food with integrity since opening [its] first restaurant 25 years ago.”
To vet potential companies looking to join the Chipotle Aluminaries Project, Chipotle will be working with Uncharted. Uncharted will assist Chipotle in selecting its first eight participants, who will be mentored by entrepreneur and restaurant owner Kimbal Musk and Top Chef star Richard Blais.
