Artistically Patterned Children's Hospitals

This Hospital's Design Aims to Raise Kids' Spirits

The Sheffield children's hospital had its rooms designed by the British designer Morag Myerscough in order to liven up the space and uplift the spirits of the kids who must reside in them.

The main focus of the designer in beginning this project was to use bold and dynamic colors, a feat that he certainly was able to accomplish. Using bright colors, geometric shapes and clean lines, the designer was able to transform the children's hospital rooms into areas that sick kids are able to maintain a sense of normalcy in. The end result is a space that still looks like a hospital, but one that offers a more playful aesthetic in order to ease some of the anxiety that children may face under such harrowing circumstances.
