Nashville-based 'Carvana' automobile dealership created its very own car vending machine. The gamified experience allows consumers to feel an extra jolt of excitement and anticipation when they come to collect their new vehicle.
The five storey car fully-automatic vending machine building works just like a candy or soda dispensing machine. When a consumer arrives, they are given a customized over-sized coin that is dropped into the vending machine slot. This triggers a “robotic arm, which goes up and grabs the car that the customer purchased online.”
The Carvana dealership decided to move its business to an online platform, which simplified the process of purchasing a vehicle. When the dealership noticed that consumer would prefer to pick up their vehicles as opposed to having the car delivered, the idea of a vending machine emerged. This experiential service provides consumers with not only a simplified online ordering outlet, but also with a creative and memorable experience offline.
