Parts and Labor Design Elevates the Capital City Diner

— March 31, 2025 — Art & Design
New York design firm Parts and Labor Design takes on a renovation project where the team refreshed the Capital City Diner just by the New York State Thruway. It has been in the Pilarnos family since 2010 and was time for a new look. The team updated the nostalgic diner designs and created a modern interpretation.

The lighting and furniture celebrate past decades and have been elevated from a new lens. The co-founder of Parts and Labor, Danu Kennedy spoke about the design project and the concept behind it. He notes, "Our new design of Capital City Diner prioritises comfort, familiarity, and social connection. It's a space where the diner's regulars not only feel welcome but that they are returning to an elevated experience."
