Sophisticated Medical Facility Concepts

CannonDesign and EDSA Work on a New Medical Facility

The Alice L. Walton Foundation has engaged the architectural firm CannonDesign and the landscape architecture practice EDSA to plan a new medical facility in Bentonville, Arkansas. This campus is intended to be situated on a property spanning one hundred acres and represents a component of a broader, long-term regional health initiative involving a substantial financial commitment and partnerships with established healthcare providers such as Mercy and the Cleveland Clinic.

CannonDesign's foundational concept for this project moves away from traditional clinical environments, aiming instead to foster an integrated setting that addresses an individual's comprehensive well-being. EDSA's proposed landscape strategy, on the other hand, is intended to actively contribute to the healing process by incorporating natural elements, walking paths, and sustainable water management systems.

The overall objective is to create an atmosphere that feels less institutional and more like a community space conducive to wellness.
