Octavia Wellness is a San Fransisco-based startup that's bringing cannabis parties to the boomer demographic.
One's mid-fifties to early sixties may not seem like the typical time for curious or casual marijuana users to experiment with different products, but the brand's dedicated wellness consultants make the now-legal substance more accessible and approachable than before. Employees of Octavia Wellness tour the county and host casual cannabis parties in private residences or retirement homes with the goal of teaching this demographic about the ways in which cannabis can improve their life. The brand introduces consumers to weed-laced lip balms, oil treatments and edibles, which can serve as a more relaxed introduction to the product. This coupled with the fact that the guests are able to socialize the product with friends or other curious users helps alleviate some of the stigma that's associated with cannabis consumption.
Both social and curated by wellness professionals, Octavia Wellness' cannabis parties are one of the ways in which boomers are stepping outside of their comfort zone to better themselves and try something new.
