Compostable Candy Wrappers

Alter Eco's Chocolate Truffles are Packaged in Compostable Foil

The exterior of Alter Eco's candy wrappers appear to be purely colorful and fun, alike packaging that is used for hundreds of other sweet products on the market. However, what makes Alter Eco's chocolate truffle wrappers truly standout is that the metallic foil can be planted in the ground and composted—in about six weeks, all traces of the candy wrapper will be gone.

After developing this compostable candy wrapper, the brand is now working towards making all of its product packaging as eco-friendly.

Recyclable candy wrappers are out there, but there are unfortunately few facilitates that will actually accept it for reuse. Considering that may used candy wrappers end up being discarded on the sides of streets, this sustainable design has the potential to leave streets looking a lot cleaner.
