I can't help but look on in pure amazement at the Canal St. Cross-Section diorama. This outrageously detailed, mini urban sculpture looks so life-like, if it didn't have an occasional dime in the photo to show just how small it was, I would have believed it to be the real deal.
Created by Alan Wolfson, the Canal St. Cross-Section mini urban sculpture is the artist's latest project. It took him approximately 18 months to complete it. Having done this for over 20 years now, Wolfson has accumulated quite the collection of dioramas depicting everything from bars, hotels, street corners and more. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, most of his creations are modeled after his hometown.
The Canal St. Cross-Section diorama is comprised of a street scene, upper subway level and lower subway level.
