The BVI Art Reef project is a new endeavor spearheaded by Richard Branson that has utilized a decaying WWII ship to create an underwater art installation that will also help to support underwater life.

The art installation has seen the ship outfitted with an oversized octopus sculpture before it was sunk off the coast of Virgin Gorda in a bid to help incite more interest in the area by tourists. As time passes and underwater life infiltrates the ship it will continue to change and evolve to become an ever-changing piece of art that will help to support sea life.

The BVI Art Reef project ship sculpture comes as an unexpected approach to helping to support local tourism, while also working to draw attention to how underwater life is being affected by our actions.
