Butaro hospital is a 150-bed health center in Rwanda that has just been completed by the humanitarian-minded MASS Design Group.
The young architectural firm was formed by Harvard students looking to make a difference. In fact, even though their first project is complete, some of the company's members are still in school. Despite this however, Butaro Hospital services 400,000 people, made use of local workers and materials, and even came in under budget.
Implications - Ventures such as this one that stresses things like social good is appealing to any consumer because of its good core values. Any company that wishes to reap from this pattern can easily connect with their core market by marketing themselves in a more positive light while gaining access to a larger viewership.
