For anyone living in a stable country, it's difficult to comprehend the strife of those living in war-torn Syria, but 'Bury Me, My Love' is an indie game that aims to help people gain a better understanding of the issues people in that situation face on a daily basis. The game simulates the experience of a Syrian couple, one of whom has fled Syria to seek refuge in Europe while the other has remained home to help care for elderly relatives.

As in the real world, when family members split up in search of refuge they can only communicate with one another via their smartphones. In Bury Me, My Love, players take the place of Majid, the husband who is caring for his relatives in Syria, and they text with and send advice to Nour, who's crossing into Europe — advice that could decide her ultimate success or failure. This realistic gameplay emulates the anxiety and fear of refugees for those playing.
