Burger King is Offering Free Whoppers for Zoom Backgrounds

Consumers are practicing social distancing, rendering out-of-home advertising like billboards to be less impactful -- Burger King aimed to amend this through a unique advertising campaign that offered free whoppers to anyone who used a BK burger billboard as their background on the popular video conferencing app, Zoom.

The campaign's official name is #HomeOfTheBillboards -- a clever hashtag that nods to the chain's logo as well as the current climate. To redeem one's prize, consumers must simply tweet a screenshot of their Burger King billboard background using the campaign hashtag. From there, the chain will DM a 'buy one get one free' coupon that can be accessed through the Burger King app.
