The 'Beetle Sphere' by Ichwan Noor looks just like the Bumblebee Transformer. While it is easy for the Transformers to shift shapes and forms, it is an astonishing feat to create something like this for the real world. The incredible sculpture consists of an actual yellow 1953 Volkswagen Beetle that has been combined with polyester and aluminum to form a perfectly round ball.
The car's new form emphasizes dynamism and movement, just as the rolling motion of a ball would not be stopped if it was free to roll around.
Noor was fascinated by the relationships between humans and objects, and the personification of inanimate objects like in the Transformer franchise. Although the car subtly suggests its link to Bumblebee, the lovable traits of the character are still imposed upon the sculpture.
