Hybrid Bookstore Hotels

Book and Bed Tokyo Introduces a New Play on 'B&B' Accomodations

Since a good book and bed pair so well together, why keep them apart? Fortunately, at the new Book and Bed Tokyo it's hard to separate one from the other.

This unique spin on the traditional B&B is set to open in Ikebukuro as of this fall. The unusual hybrid hotel features a curated selection of book from Shibuya Publishing & Booksellers, aiming to appeal to foreign tourists with its novelty. As of now, the renderings make it unclear whether the hotel will have inidividual rooms or if guests will be sleeping in a shared communal setting right alongside bookshelves.

The success of the overnight stay service that the Junkudo bookstore hosted in 2014 was likely what inspired the unusual Book and Bed accommodations.
