Upright Cafe Sleeping Pods

Nescafé Harajuku Will Launch Giraffenap Pods for Quick Naps

Nescafé Harajuku has announced it will be taking a more direct approach to helping consumers rejuvenate when stepping into the downtown location in Tokyo this summer. The coffee shop will be introducing standing sleeping pods called the Giraffenap, which has been created by the Koyoju Plywood Corporation. The sleeping booths work by keeping the person in an upright position thanks to a series of articulation points, which alleviate pressure on the body to help a person rest more comfortably.

The Giraffenap pods will make their debut at Nescafé Harajuku on August 22 and be available for use through September 17, 2023 with reservations available online. The pods are expected to be available for consumer purchase in December or in early January 2024.
