There's something very contemporary about the design of these black and white chocolate boxes that isn't totally obvious with an up-close glance. The use of plain white in packaging has increased to communicate purity and flawlessness, and the minimalism of the two contrasting tones is crisp and bold. The graphic logo is clear and punchy, but there's something about the style of it that's extra modern.
With any distance from COCO Chocolate packaging, the eyes will often jumble the appearance of the letters into monochromatic pixels. This makes the branded sleeves look like they're featuring large QR codes. Similarly, a removed view of the open box of chocolates has the rows of cocoa confections resembling the same visual effect, for a subtly digital-looking dessert.
