The Slurpee flavor is formulated with the Jones Soda Co. Birthday Cake soda in mind and is reported to have notes of vanilla birthday cake just like the effervescent drink. The Slurpee is coming on the heels of the 25th anniversary of the limited-edition Jones Soda Co. Birthday Cake soda, which also coincides with 7-Eleven's 94th birthday as well.

President and CEO of Jones Soda Mark Murray boasted about the new 7-Eleven Birthday Cake Slurpee collaboration saying, "The Jones Birthday Cake Slurpee drink is the latest in a series of collaborations we've had with 7-Eleven over the years and is a tribute to the ongoing appeal of our distinctive soda flavors.
