Targeted at young women, a new series of birth control ads from Costa Rican advertising agency Tribu DDB highlight the precarious nature of choosing a contraception method. Created for Primabela Birth Control, the ads feature the tagline, "Until you're ready."
Designed to replicate that of a class photo, the cheeky ads feature the image of a young women in the corner with space for a classroom's worth of kids. The ad reproduces the imagery of the birth control packaging, suggesting that each pill consumed is reaffirming the assertion that one is not ready for children.
The ad is most effective based on the implication that there are multiple opportunities to conceive a child in one month and that effective contraception is a choice you don't need to be making everyday.
