Nolwa Studio Introduces the Bidri Collection

— February 19, 2025 — Art & Design
The Bidri collection is a beautiful range of products designed by Nolwa Studio based in Hyderabad, India. The pieces are intricate and approach ancient design notions with a modern lens. There are four pieces that make up the collection, this includes: the Horizon Lamp, the Monolith, the Facet Mirror, and the Drop Table.

All of these honor the Bidri style of metal inlaying -- this is an ancient practice that comes from Karnataka. The process is an eight-step method, which must be performed by skilled artisans. It creates a beautiful contrast between the silver inlay and the oxidized base to take on an inky black. For example, the Drop Table has a custom Bidri pattern reflecting the hand-hawn luster of the captivating metal.
