Nolwa Studios Presents the Bidri Furniture Collection

— February 22, 2025 — Art & Design
Nolwa Studios introduces a look at its new Bidri furniture collection which nods to the centuries-old style of metal the namesake is referencing. The inherent and ancient beauty is translated into a modern world and the beautiful designs are also highly functional.

The process of bidri is an eight-step process done by skilled artisans where the designs are created by inlaying pure silver wire integrated into blackened allots including lead alloy, copper, and zinc to create the contrast. The capsule uses this technique for furniture including lamps, mirrors, and side tables. It is detailed with clean lines and minimal forms to provide a perfect backdrop for the works to shine through against the juxtaposing sleek and modern silhouettes.
