Underground garages are typically reserved for automobiles, but this bicycle garage in the Netherlands has been created in order to change this in a truly design-conscious way. The facility is located right beneath the Koningin Julianaplein in The Hague in front of the Central Station and is expertly appointed with a variety of ultra-modern features as well as artistic finishings. The facility offers space for up to 8,000 bicycles to be stored and helps to transform the act of parking one's bike into a museum-like experience.
The bicycle garage is the design work of Studio Marsman and Silo, and is focused on being a future-proof space that will provide ample storage for bikes and also working well with the next development steps of the region.
