Benetton Unhate Dove Sculpture Symbolizes Newfound Peace

United Colors of Benetton, which launched its 'Unhate' campaign earlier this year, has unveiled a giant dove sculpture to symbolize newfound peace at the end of the Arab Revolution. The Benetton Unhate Dove was donated on Dec. 24 by Colors Magazine to the city of Tripoli, which is celebrating Libyan Independence Day for the first time in 42 years, reports WWD.

The Benetton Unhate Dove features an exterior "plumage" made of shell cases -- it's covered in 20,000 of them! -- that were recovered by war zone residents. By giving it to the city of Tripoli as a symbol, the company aims to "oppose the culture of hate," as the executive vice president of the Benetton Group Alessandro Benetton describes.
