Direct-to-consumer beauty brand IL MAKIAGE is launching a first-of-its-kind influencer-based ecommerce beauty platform that introduces a new way for consumers to shop. While consumers often have to visit different sites to collect inspiration and education, try products or make a purchase, this new platform offers a one-stop-shop for all of the above. According to IL MAKIAGE CEO Oran Holtzman, "IL MAKIAGE is on a mission to close the gap between online and offline by providing consumers with many of the same advantages physical stores are offering."
On the platform, users are able to make the most of a simple, familiar interface that involves swiping left and right to select a desired beauty look—over time, machine learning offers more and more relevant recommendations based on a user's tastes. Users are also able to view full video tutorials by influencers and even opt to try products at home before making a purchase within the system.
