Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co., which was initiated all the way back in 1890 before being rejuvenated over a century later, has launched a new brew in the form of the 'Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Imperial Milk Stout.'
Unsurprisingly, the 'Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Imperial Milk Stout' offers a flavor profile that borrows from both bourbon and beer, and offers a strong ABV of 12 percent. As far as the taste is concerned, this milk stout offers heady hints of oak and caramel along with the unmistakably sweet and pleasing touch of bourbon right at the end. Rich in texture, the process of aging in decanted Kentucky bourbon barrels has certainly borne fruit in terms of flavor.
According to head brewer Brandon Martin, the 'Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Imperial Milk Stout' arose out of a desire to craft a beer that "had all the characteristics of a big bold stout but was smooth on the palate.”
