Banana-Based Denim Collections

This Apparel Makes Use Of a Novel Cotton and Banana Fiber Blend

Los Angeles, California-based jeans giant Guess is all set to make waves in its fall 2024 denim collection by making use of novel banana fiber pioneered by none other than Interloop, a Pakistani company that produces an array of denim, apparel and activewear products.

Specifically, the pieces in this denim collection will utilize 'Loomshake,' a unique product that happens to consist of an innovative blend of cotton and banana fibers.

Considering the fact that Pakistan is known to grow well over 150,000 tons of bananas each year, it's clear that the resultant 10 million tons of waste that is generated needs to be reused in some way for the sake of sustainability, which is something that the partnership between Guess and Interloop will help contribute to.
