The credit crisis will likely lead to more DIY projects, but how extreme will people go to save a buck? Just look at the Knitted Gingerbread House. It isn't just an architectural facade made of knotted wool, the entire interior of the faux Hansel and Gretel house consists of intricately detailed, hand-crafted replicas of house-hold goods, from chairs to teacups and cake, and outdoor items like 12 foot tall trees.
