Toronto-based design studio Atellier SUN has conceived the interior for a compact optical establishment that combines clinical functions with a retail area for eyewear. The design philosophy draws a parallel to the meticulous environment of a traditional horologist, emphasizing precision and warmth within a clean, contemporary aesthetic. To cultivate a sense of spaciousness and softness in the limited area, Atellier SUN implemented a vaulted ceiling treated with a reflective paint finish and illuminated with ambient, indirect light sources. The custom-crafted furnishings, fashioned from dark walnut, are characterized by consistent, rounded profiles and are arranged to create a cohesive and organized layout. A central display table with a light-colored, monolithic appearance serves as a focal point for the interior.
