'ASH Shanghai' is a Clothing Store That Take Minimalism to Heart

— March 21, 2018 — Art & Design
Often, retailers look to design their stores in a way that exemplifies their brand, but ASH Shanghai, a high-end clothing store, lets its wares represent the brand on their own. The store's design is extremely minimal, with a series of bare iron rods that crisscross the space to provide racks for the clothes — and little else.

Of course, to say that the industrial materials in the store are minimal is slightly misleading, as even that lack of substance is itself a statement about the ideology behind ASH Shanghai. The store also has various flourishes that distinguish it from a fully bare room, like an interesting light fixture that covers the ceiling toward the rear end of the space.

ASH Shanghai sells high-end streetwear, including sweaters, sneakers, and accessories.
