In Indianapolis an up and coming social business is combining artisan breads and sweets to empower young people. Currently a Kickstarter campaign, Knead-to-Feed's goal is to provide employment opportunities for young people aged 16 to 24 by giving them culinary arts training so they can make the artisan breads and desserts. The funds accumulated through their crowdfunding project will go towards baking equipment, labeling and packing materials.
They are hoping if they exceed their fundraising goal, they will be able to add more items to their menu. These baked goods with a purpose use high quality, fresh ingredients to further their social mission. They bake their artisan breads from scratch, using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
