Guerrilla Art Festivals

The 'Art in Odd Places' Festival is Celebrated Through a Gallery Exhibit

'Art in Odd Places' is a New York art festival that sees local artists take over 14th Street through a variety of oddly placed art. The guerrilla-style festival which started ten years ago saw pieces that used the city as its canvas and often subverted signage pieces and included odd human displays.

The most recognizable pieces from Art in Odd Places can now be seen through a gallery exhibit called 'Recall.' The gallery has selected 47 different artists to showcase some of their previous works. The curated selection focused on pieces that blended in with much of the city, and were pieces that you had to look closely to determine it was there. Recall is a great reminder of the visual stimulation overload that most cities have, forcing you to observe more closely.
