Born out of the need for more local offices, ArchiTech Company teams up with Royal 3D and the Port of Rotterdam Authority to establish R-IGLO. As Europe's largest seaport, Rotterdam often lacks demarcated and comfortable office zones in its warehouses. The R-IGLO provides a designated modular office zone solution.
Using 3D printing, the workspace resembles the shape of an igloo. The structures are made from recycled PET plastic, which is a reusable material sourced from Rotterdam's M4H harbor. To ensure durability, the PET plastic is reinforced with short glass fibers. M4H is also the location of R-IGLO assembly.
The units are built by linking together 3D-printed panels that can easily be disassembled, transported, and stored. Its modular nature allows owners to customize the size of their R-IGLO by swapping out different sized panels.
