In this hauntingly beautiful series of captures, artist Anna Schuleit sheds light on issues of mental illness, and the way patients are treated at psychiatric hospitals by grouping 28,000 plants together in the spaces of an abandoned mental hospital.

The surreal experience was created with potted plants that were spread out on four floors of the facility. The beauty of the scene itself created for an immersed experience that may have actually paralleled a vision of one of the clinic's patients.

Entitled Bloom, this work from Anna Schuleit certainly brings to mind the fact that greenery is rarely found in such institutions, and shows how a little bit of foliage could help create a more enjoyable life for those who have to spend time in such hospitals.
