With the holiday season just around the corner, Hershey's has introduced an alternative to chocolate chip to help home bakers take their favorite treats up a notch.
Playing on the popularity of sweet and salty flavor combinations, Hershey's will now sell Sea Salt Caramel Baking Chips that can be used in a wide variety of holiday recipes. While the new baking chips look very similar to chocolate chips, they feature a decadent caramel flavor and a hint of saltiness, which adds a whole new dimension to cookies, cakes and brownies.
Not only are the new baking chips delicious, but they are also free of gluten and any artificial flavors or preservatives. As senior brand manager of Hershey’s Kitchens Kriston Ohm explains, "As consumers shift their focus toward better understanding the ingredients in their food, we’re prepared to guide them swiftly through the grocery store and the baking process"
