The Alliance Glassware Collection Links Water and Alcohol

During their second year at the Design Academy Eindhoven, students Florence Louisy and Léo Schlumberger created the Alliance Glassware collection. The series is intended to cajole users into drinking a glass of water with each alcohol beverage they imbibe.

Each pair of glasses are hand-blown, featuring shapes that resemble conventional wine and cocktail glasses, minus the stem. The smaller of the two glasses fits into its larger counterpart, allowing both glasses to be poured and used as a single serving. The intention is that for each glass of alcohol, the user will also have a glass of water, avoiding over-consumption.

The designers explain that the collection will improve the situation in a natural way, linking hydration with boozing.
