Reactine Has Submitted an Allergy Emoji to the Unicode Consortium

Spring and summer are great for many reasons, which makes it tough for allergy sufferers to adequately communicate their malaise, so Reactine is lobbying to help those people out with its new allergy emoji. The allergy medication brand has submitted a proposal to the Unicode Consortium, the organization responsible for managing all the characters that make it onto digital keyboards, to include an emoji of an allergy sufferer in the upcoming Unicode 11.0.

Reactine's allergy emoji features a classic yellow emoji face with red, watery eyes and a stuffed, sniffling nose. To hammer home the allergenic impetus, the emoji also includes a few of the most common allergens like flower and ragweed pollen. On top of its formal proposal to the Consortium, Reactine has also created a petition on Change.org.
