The Allergen Alert was showcased by the France-based food safety diagnostics brand bioMerieux at CES 2026 as a revolutionary solution for consumers with allergies to incorporate into their equipment roster.

The portable, battery-operated system is capable of replicating the results of laboratory tests when analyzing for specific allergens like gluten. The system is expected to offer detection of the nine most common food allergens by 2028 including peanuts, milk, tree nuts, fish, eggs, wheat, sesame and soy.

The Allergen Alert utilizes test pouches for samples that are priced at $10 each and will be available as part of a subscription plan. The system is ideal for use when traveling or heading to a restaurant to provide peace of mind before enjoying a meal that is doesn't contain allergens.
