Textile-to-Textile Recycled Sneakers

Allbirds Remix is the First Polycotton Recycled Sneaker

Allbirds Remix is a new footwear collection featuring the first footwear made from textile-to-textile recycled materials from polycotton waste. Developed in partnership with Blumaka and Circ, the Allbirds Remix styles—Runner NZ Remix and Cruiser Remix—give new life to manufacturing waste, transforming textile and foam scraps into fresh, wearable footwear.

The designs for men and women incorporate Blumaka midsoles, made from reclaimed foam scraps from athletic footwear manufacturing. Thanks to a process that uses 99% less water and emits 65% fewer carbon emissions than traditional foam production, the material is ground and moulded into a high-performance recycled foam blend.

Additionally, the innovative Remix styles use textile-to-textile recycled materials derived from polycotton waste with Circ’s proprietary hydrothermal recycling process, which recovers cotton and polyester fibres from blended garments.

Textile-to-textile Recycling Innovation
