Tomokazu Matsuyama is an artist based in New York and most recently, he launches the large exhibition by the name of Accountable Nature. It showcases new works by the artist at the Long Museum Chonqing and features large scale paintings that represent the Japanese artist's imagination against captivating backgrounds.
The artist uses traditional Japanese color palette with bold hues when blending different concepts found in popular culture. The museum released a statement, nothing that “Matsuyama’s visual language is inherent with an editorial process in which mashups and samplings from familiar elements spark viewers to make their own connections, leading to new ideas and narratives. By causing different elements to coexist on a flat surface, Matsuyama challenges contemporary art paradigms and offers each viewer space for new concepts and notions."
