In the 540º Bottle and Jar, you're seeing everyday items with a bit of a twist. Glass vessels are mass-produced all around the world to hold all sorts of beverages, preserves and condiments, but it's normally the label that gets consumers excited.
Jorge de la Cruz designed this set of containers for a contest that was organized by the Bruni Glass brand of Italy. Both were entered in different categories and both were chosen as finalists and later shown in Paris at the Salon Emballage.
What makes the 540º Bottle and Jar particularly elegant is their smooth cylindrical forms and the presence of subtle but striking details around their necks. It's as if the form of the cap threading was elaborated and extended into dramatic coiling contours for great visual intrigue.
