The 3×3 retreat has been designed by the Estudio Diagonal Architects as a cabin nestled in the Chilean rainforest just outside La Unión city that's compact yet well-furnished for comfort. The cabin measures in at three-meters-by-three-meters -- hence the name -- and features a two-level design that's meant to fit in neatly with the surrounding landscape. Coming in at 4.8-meters in height, the cabin makes up for its small footprint with high ceilings and windows that look out onto the rainforest for uninterrupted views of the surroundings.
The 3×3 retreat is constructed with economic building materials to further prioritize a cost-effective form. The cabin is broken into three sections including the terrace for outdoor entertaining, the day floor (first floor) with kitchen, living room and dining room, and the private floor (second floor) with the bedroom and bathroom.
