Dillon's Small-Batch Distillers has created the first 100% Canadian rye-whiskey in decades with its new small-batch rye.
In the 1920's, US prohibition caused 100% Rye Canadian whiskeys to go out of favor because of the expensive ingredients required make it. Rye whiskeys would be limited to lower percentages of the grain making 100% Canadian rye-whiskeys virtually extinct. Decades later, Dillon's has launched the first whiskey made with 100% Ontario-grown rye grain. Due to its small-batch distilling process and exclusive ingredients (even the oak casks must be Canadian grown Oak wood), this product is well thought-out and carefully crafted.
This return to Canadian rye tradition is a great way to celebrate Canada's upcoming 150th anniversary. As a part of Canadian history and culture, premium rye whiskeys reflect Canada's roots and rich history.
