Colorado-based spirit maker Spirit Hound Distillers has announced the launch of its newest limited-edition product, Five-Year Rye Whisky, the release of which will mark the first time the brand's Whiskey has ever been available for retail purchase.
'
The new expression has been made on two hand-built-from-scratch stills designed by Founder and Head Distiller Craig Engelhorn. In addition, the liquid has been aged for five years in fully-charred American oak barrels before being bottled, completely unblended. The finished product is a 70-percent rye and 30-percent malt whiskey that delivers notes of black cherry and stone fruit.
“We released our rye whisky for the first time last year and saw such a great response from our tasting room that we wanted to share it far and wide. The additional time spent aging lends a richer flavor and more dimensions to this year’s release," said Engelhorn in a recent press release.
