22 Man of Steel Sensations

Superman Finds, From Abstract Comic Characters to Heroic Cufflinks

— October 8, 2011 — Pop Culture
When someone says the word "superhero," perhaps many characters come to mind, but the first one you'll probably think of is Superman. This collection of Superman finds proves just how culturally significant the comic book character is.

Superman first appeared in comics in 1938 and has stayed in pop culture ever since, inspiring everything from fashion to plastic surgery. In fact, a 35-year-old Filipino man actually underwent a series of surgeries -- even thigh implants -- to make himself look more like Clark Kent. Other Superman obsessions range from toys and clothing to art and fashion editorials.

If you're not convinced as to the powerful effect of the man who hails from Krypton and who is faster than a speeding bullet, this collection of Superman finds may do the trick.
