Made from a shipping container, the sustainable residence includes a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and living space alongside a large outdoor sitting area. Another notable example is Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter's sustainable cabins project that is located in a French mountain village. Inspired by small countryside cottages or "hyttes," the eco-friendly structures embrace compact living and are meant to mimic the natural environment surrounding them.

The $3.7 billion building reaches soaring heights and features a twisting terrace design that acts as its main focal point that emphasizes outdoor space within a busy urban environment.
