In her speech on courage, Becky McKinnell explains why you should not wait to be a certain age to start your own business.
The entrepreneur started her own business at the age of 22 and shares the benefits of creating a new venture at a young age. When you are fresh out of college, your lifestyle is flexible and you have less to lose. You don't have many expectations of work life. You also get to pick the people you work with every day.
The speech on courage also discusses several entrepreneurial lessons that could be applicable to anyone attempting a new thing. The business owner suggests hustling by exploring every opportunity and going to networking events. She also claims when you begin, "a big part of gaining traction is having the courage to keep showing up." The speaker reminds the audience everyone is as confused and intimidated, so you should push yourself to do the things you don't want to do and force yourself into uncomfortable situations.
