Robert A.M. Stern discusses how technology has changed or effected architecture in this short architecture talk. Stern admits that personally he still enjoys working with modeling clay when it comes to coming up with new architectural designs. However, his large firm uses innovative new technology that allows them to do exciting new things that wouldn't have been possible twenty years ago.
Stern doesn't believe that this design technology has necessarily improved architecture, because some of the most note-worthy structures in existence were made hundreds of years ago. But he does believe that technology has provided architects with more possibilities, and has assisted architects in creating some truly beautiful structures.
Stern sees the value in new design technology, but enjoys more traditional methods.
