Most big name designers are known for a certain trademark (for instance, Chanel has pearls, Balmain has ripped shirts and safety pins and Burberry has their trench coats), and Missoni is definitely known for its use of zig-zag patterns.

The brand was founded by Ottavio ("Tai") and Rosita Missoni in 1953 and today is carried on by Angela Missoni. The Italian label has most recently been in the news for its collaboration with fast fashion chain Target.

The Missoni for Target collection was released in select Target stores in the United States on September 13th, 2011 and most items sold out within 24 hours. The Target website also crashed several times due to the immense amount of people attempting to purchase items.
