Parisian design firm Unknown, Untitled introduced a look at its UU Tiles collection, which takes ceramic tiles and integrates other functions with it. It works as hooks or as simplistic wall lamps, blending in perfectly with the tiling to stand out beyond just aesthetics.
It was originally launched as a research project and has since fully grown into a full capsule with the collaboration of a historic Normandy tile manufacturer. It pushes the traditional concept of what tiles are about and encourages more customization. The studio leans closer to the notion of sustainability by using the fixed nature of tiling as an opportunity to add more function and practicality in a way that is streamlined with design.
