In the January 2010 issue of Harper’s Bazaar the US magazine highlights ‘Hits from the Collections.’ Starring blond babe Anja Rubik and styled by Katis Mossman the vibrant editorial features bold prints, denim, suiting, day dressing and neutrals.
Photographed by Greg Kadel ‘Hits from the Collections’ include pieces from Etro, Missoni, Yves Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani, Bottega Veneta, Dior and more.
Implications - Consumers are feeling less pressure to dress up and are embracing the dressed down look more and more. Daywear styles aren't replacing the frequent formal clothing spreads in fashion magazines, but their appearances are becoming more frequent. The notion of daywear taking precedent over evening wear indicates a shift in shopper's budgets as daywear is typically less expensive.
